He co-founded DRONELIFE.com to address the emerging commercial market for drones and drone technology. Prior to DRONELIFE.com, Alan co-founded Where.com, ThinkingScreen Media, and Nurse.com. Howard Schneider, CTO – Howie is an entrepreneur focused on technology, development, data management and operations. Prior to co-founding Crowditz, Howie was CTO and co-founder at Generate Inc., where he developed and implemented the technology to create real-time news and event monitoring, comprehensive intelligence on millions of companies and executives, and relationship capital management. Generate was purchased by Dow Jones in 2008. Jon Finegold, Chairman – Jon is a Boston-based entrepreneur and marketing thought leader who has worked with dozens of start-ups, launching several award-winning products and services including OpenAir, where.com, Thinking Screen Media and Scratch Wireless. Jon has a background in math and computer science, still occasionally writes bad code as a hobby, and always takes a data-driven approach to marketing and audience development. Kacey Schneider, Marketing Director – Kacey spent seven years as a secondary school educator on both the East and West coasts. Additionally, Kacey lived and worked in Central America for three years, where she was the English editor for a local newspaper and wrote a weekly “Green Awareness” column for the publication. Kacey’s first start-up experience was with Generate Inc., where she performed competitive analysis research to assist the sales team. At Crowditz, Kacey manages the writing, selection, and production of company profiles.
John Aland, Contributing Editor and CPA – John is an Accounting PhD candidate at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. His research interests include crowdfunding, disclosure, and debt contracting. Prior to Michigan, he worked as an auditor at KPMG in Philadelphia for seven years, leaving the firm as an audit manager. John has a BS in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.
